PPP, MQM indecisive over admin system for Sindh

KARACHI: People of Sindh still don’t know which administrative system is in place for the province as PPP and MQM leaders failed to reach a decision on the matter, Geo News reported.

Provincial leaders from both parties failed to clarify during a news conference whether the Commissionerate System or Local Government (LG) system was in place.

Speaking to reporters at the Chief Minister House, PPP leader Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq when asked what system was in place, did not answer. Haq added that all decisions would be made in accordance with the law.

MQM leader Dr. Sagheer Ahmed during the news conference said the Commissionerate system was not an issue of pride for his party, adding that the MQM would not take any step which would destabilise the country.

At midnight Friday (November 4), the local government ordinance re-promulgated by Sindh Governor expired leaving no administrative system in place.
