PESHAWAR: A three-day Eid Exhibition titled Eid with Youth under the auspices of Women Business Development Centre (WBDC) was inaugurated by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Social Welfare and Women Development, Sitara Ayaz.
Those present on the occasion included Provincial Chief Small & Medium Entrepreneurs Development Authority (Smeda), Javed Iqbal Khattak, Project Manager, WBDC, Nabila Farman and a large number of the heads and representatives of the organizations working for the development and welfare of women in the province.
The students of IM Studies, Iqra University, IM Sciences Hayatabad, Mujahida Academy. Fine Arts Department, University of Peshawar, Institute of Social Works, Sociology have established 15 stalls in the exhibition.
The stalls included different coloured and designed dresses, cosmetics, bangles, artificial jewelry and mehindi.
The provincial minister visited different stalls and expressed deep interest in the products manufactured by the students.
Speaking on the occasion, Sitara Ayaz appreciated the efforts of SMEDA and WBDC for the establishment of the centre for display of the products of women entrepreneurs and attracting them towards business activities. She said that the women of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have no shortage of talent and particular the young generation enjoys unprecedented potential.
Therefore, he said the organizations established for the welfare of women should come forward to utilize the talent of the talented youth.
The minister congratulated the administration for the beautification of the centre on the eve of Eidul Azha and stressed the stallholders for the promotion of their culture through utilization of their skills.
After successful holding of the exhibition in Peshawar, she hinted at organizing such event at national level and later their extension to world level.
Earlier, Project Manager, Nabila Farman briefed the provincial minister regarding details of the exhibition. (APP)
