Avalanche kills five of a family in Azad Kashmir's Neelum Valley

Five members of the same family were killed after an avalanche fell on their house in Neelum Valley Thursday.

The incident took place in Sargan village.

According to the assistant commissioner, an avalanche hit the house and buried five members of the same family.

The bodies of a woman and her two children have been taken out of the rubble, while a search operation to get the other two bodies out is under way by the residents.

Rescue teams could not reach the spot due to the closure of communication roads, which is why the residents are continuing the rescue work, the assistant commissioner said.
