17 profiteers fined for overcharging, non-display of rate list

ISLAMABAD: Assistant Commissioner (Secretariat)Islamabad, Nouman Yousaf on Sunday conducted surprise price checkingin the area of Shazad Town and imposed fines on profiteers.

According to details, Assistant Commissioner (Secretariat)Islamabad, Nouman Yousaf conducted surprise price checking andimposed fines amounting to Rs 8,000 on 17 profiteers for overcharging and not displaying the rate list of fruits and vegetables.

The Assistant Commissioner, during the checking, also issuedwarning to the profiteers to ensure the display of rate list of food items failing which stern action will be taken against the violators.

He said that surprise price checking has been launched toensure the availability of food items including fruits and vegetables at the fixed rates and those found involved in overcharging and not displaying the rate list, would be imposed fines on the spot. (APP)
