UC secretary arrested in corruption case

MULTAN: The Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) Multan arrested a secretary of an union council No 14 in a corruption case on Tuesday, some eight years after he was declared a proclaimed offender.

Mumtaz Hussain, the in-charge arrest cell of ACE Multan told APP that accused secretary Daud Alam Bhatti had embezzled lakhs of rupees by putting fake signatures of the then UC nazim Rana Aslam in 2003.

An FIR was registered and he was declared proclaimed offender by the court. On Tuesday, an ACE team conducted a raid at his house and arrested him. He would be presented before the court on Wednesday. (APP)
