HYDERABAD: Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro Nasir Abbass Soomro presided over a meeting held to review security and other arrangements for Muharram at his office on Wednesday.
Officials of the Revenue, Health, Education, Civil Defence and municipal department, police, Rangers, religious leaders and representatives of mourners' organizations attended the meeting.
The deputy commissioner urged for maintaining peace and promoting religious and sectarian harmony, love and brotherhood during Moharram.
He directed all concerned offials to chalk out security plans for the upcoming Muharram-ul-haram and to constitute peace committees consisting of religious scholars and government officials.
The deputy commissioner urged the religious scholars to spread the message of peace and harmony through their speeches and cooperate with the government and the security agencies in maintaining the law and order. (APP)
