LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to set up special courts for overseas Pakistanis, Geo News reported on Thursday.

A meeting was held in Lahore chaired by Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar. In the meeting, permission was given to overseas Pakistanis to record their statements through video link.

Punjab Overseas Commission vice chairperson Wasim Akhtar gave a briefing in the meeting.

The Punjab governor said that a time limit will be fixed for the decisions of cases of overseas Pakistanis. 

The Lahore High Court chief justice has an important role to play in providing justice to overseas Pakistanis, the governor added.

He said the role of overseas Pakistanis in the economic strength of Pakistan is commendable and oppression and injustice will not be tolerated by overseas Pakistanis.
