HYDERABAD: Sindh Minister for Culture Sassui Palijo has said that many new programmes have been planned to celebrate the 268th Urs of great saint and poet, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai with a traditional fervor and respect.
The Urs would be held in next month at Bhit Shah. Poets and literary figures from all provinces would be invited to recite poetry in the provincial languages.
This she said while presiding over a meeting, which reviewed the arrangements of 268th Urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai here on Friday.
The extremism and terrorism could be ended through his message of love, brotherhood which is the need of the hour, she added.
Millions of devotees are paying rich tribute to attend his Urs not only across the country but from all over the world.
She directed the Secretary Culture to hold meetings with all stakeholders, departments and agencies to make foolproof security arrangements during the forthcoming Urs and make it a success.
The meeting was attended by Secretary culture Abdul Aziz Uqaily, Muhammad Ayoob Jamali, Incharge Bhitshah Culture Centre Shair Muhammad Mehar and others. (APP)
