FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) will expand and upgrade 12 grid stations with the installation of new power transformers by June 2012.
According to a spokesman of the FESCO, the company already started STG project with 5 million dollars arranged by its own resources while a loan of 23.4 million dollar was got from Asian Development Bank (ADB) for this project which would be completed up to December 31, 2011.
After the completion of this project, the new project of expansion and up-gradation of 12 grid stations would be started. However, PC-1 of the new project would be completed before the completion of old project in consultation with all respective departments.
The spokesman said, under STG project 40-MVA power transformers will be installed at 6 grid stations including Chiniot Road, Factory Area, Sammundri Road, Old Thermal, Narwala Road and Thikriwala.
He said, that transformers of these grid stations had been exported while their installation would be started within next couple of days.
The new power transformers of 10/13-MVA capacity will be replaced with 20/26-MVA transformers at 132-KV grid stations of Jhang-II, Wanwachran, Havaili Bahadar Shah, Sardar Pur Noon, Kad Lathi and Lalian while work on Piplan-Bhakkar Transmission Line is also continuing with full swings that will help in strengthening power distribution system of the FESCO, he added.
