LAHORE: The Post Graduate Medical Institution (PGMI) despite a big healthcare provider institute, has been facing a shortage of around 526 nurses since long, sources at the hospital said here on Monday.
As many as posts of 21 head nurses are also lying vacant in the institution which need to be filled, it added.
However, it is learnt that Provincial Secretary Health Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan had formulated a committee comprising Principal PGMI and Director Finance to fill the vacant posts at hospital and to improve the security system and hygienic conditions.
The Principal of the institution Dr Tariq Salahuddin responding to the vacant posts of nurses said that the establishment of Nursing Institute was one of the dire needs of the hospital so that shortage of nurses and head nurses could be met.
