Lehri for consultation before finalizing Quetta master plan
QUETTA: Chief Secretary (CS) Balochistan Ahmed Bakhsh Lehri has called for taking all departments and organizations on-board to make Quetta master plan a success.

Addressing a high level meeting held here on Saturday, he said that the objectives could only be achieved through consultation and coordination among provincial departments while implementing a master plan designed for the beauty of Quetta.

"Metropolitan Corporation will be responsible and supposed to carry out the patch working and repair of the roads in the city," he said, adding however divisional coordination committee would give approval for the construction on the new roads.

The CS suggested that in order to overcome the traffic relating issues traffic control and Engineering bureau should also be included in the Quetta master plan.

He underlined the need for evolving concreted strategy to overcome the hygienic matters of the provincial capital and ordered stern action against the illegal encroachers and elements hamper the cleanliness drive launched by the district administration.

Expressing grave concern over the depleting water level on alarming scale in Quetta, he said that ban on the installation of tube-wells strictly be implemented.

Commissioner Quetta division, Naseem Ahmed Lehri, IG of Balochistan police Rao Amin Hashim, Additional Chief Secretary Dr Umer Babar, Secretaries Home, Irrigation, planning and development, DG Quetta Development Authority, Administrator Metropolitan Authority and MD WASA attended the meeting. (APP)
