Rickshaw drivers stage protest

FAISALABAD: Rickshaw drivers staged a protest demonstration against charging of parking fee on every entry in a day, at Sabzi Mandi Sadar Bypass.

Scores of rickshaw drivers headed by Shaukat Ali Manager Rickshaw Stand Sabzi Mandi staged a sit-in at Jhang Road and blocked it for vehicular traffic for hours. They blamed that the rickshaw drivers were forced to pay parking fee at Sabzi Mandi on every entry which was an overcharging and illegal practice, due to which the poor rickshaw drivers were facing severe financial constraints.

They shouted slogans against the overcharging of fee and demanded the government to take action and make bound the contractors of parking stand for charging parking fee only one time in a day.

Receiving information, SHO Thikriwala Chaudhary Abdur Razzaq rushed the spot and dispersed the protestors by assuring them that their demand will be entertained favorably. (APP)
