KOLKATA: At least 70 people were killed when a fire engulfed a hospital on Friday in the eastern Indian city of Kolkata, a senior administrator of the gutted facility said.
"Seventy people have died and about 90 people have been rescued," senior vice president of the AMRI hospital, S. Upadhayay, told reporters.
The precise cause of the fire which broke out in the early hours of Friday morning, was under investigation, he said.
