FAISALABAD: Female advocate Ishrat Naheed, her brother and another accomplice involved in kidnapping for ransom cum murder case were sent to jail here on Friday.

According to police, 16-year-old Bilal son of a local trader Javaid left his Satellite Town residence for tuition on November 17, 2011. When Bilal left home, Ishrat Naheed Advocate, who was living in the same locality and was former teacher of Bilal, called him in her house and detained him there by serving some toxic cold drinks. The female accused got a mobile SIM through CNIC of her client Mst.Shagufta Husain of Muhammad Nagar and in connivance with her brother Muhammad Nasir Iqbal and another accomplice Adeel Arshad contacted the relatives of Bilal and demanded Rs.3.5 million as ransom amount for the release of Bilal.

After bargaining the accused agreed to receive Rs.3 million for the release of the boy but they directed the relatives of the boy to put ransom money in a dustbin of Orthopedic Ward of DHQ Hospital.

Father of the boy put the amount at the said place and did not inform police about this bargaining as directed by the accused persons.

However, the accused did not release Bilal despite receiving money. They strangulated the boy to death and threw his body into Rakh Branch Canal after packing it into a bag.

The dead body was recovered from the canal near Kahna Bridge, the area of Dijkot police station, which was identified.

On the report of Javaid, the police registered a case and started investigation.

A police team headed by SP, CIA Nasir Sial arrested Advocate Ishrat Naheed Gill from Satellite Town who during interrogation confessed the crime and admitted receipt of ransom amount of Rs.3 million. She also revealed that she was the former teacher of Bilal and got a share of Rs.500,000 from the ransom money.

Later the police also arrested the remaining accused on the indication of Ishrat Naheed Gill and presented them before the Anti Terrorist Court (ATC) No.1 and the Judge ATC Ishtiaq Ahmad granted their physical remand.

The police today once again produced the accused before the learned judge who sent them to jail up to December 12 and directed investigation Officer to complete the challan and present it in
the court. (APP)
