Attorney General's office receives reply from COAS Kayani's office in memo case

ISLAMABAD: The office of the Attorney General has received the reply of Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani via his office in the memo case, Geo News reported.

Prior to this former ambassador Husain Haqqani and US businessman Mansoor Ijaz had also submitted their replies to the Supreme Court.

Speaking to the media Attorney General Maulvi Anwarul Haq said President Zardari’s reply would not be submitted today.

“The replies of COAS and DG ISI would be submitted to the Supreme Court” Haq said.

Attorney general when asked how many pages the reply of ISI chief and COAS contained, he replied that only one and a half page has been written so far and 50 copies of each reply would be prepared afterwards.

The Supreme Court after the initial hearing of the memogate petition filed by PML-N president Nawaz Sharif, had given 15 days for respondents to reply which included the President, federation, COAS, DG ISI, former ambassador Husain Haqqani and others.
