Accused charged in narco case acquitted
PESHAWAR: A local court here on Wednesday acquitted an accused charged in narcotics smuggling case after prosecution failed to produce solid proof and evidence against him.

The court presided over by Additional Session Judge, Inamullah Khan ruled that accused, Imran son of Faqir Gul, resident of Yakatooth was acquitted on basis of non-availability of proof against him.

Defence lawyer, Farhana Khan Marwat argued before the court that his client was wrongly implicated by Hayat Police on November 12, 2010 in the case as there was difference in statements of witnesses.

She prayed for acquittal of her client that was allowed by the court. Imran Khan was arrested by Hayatabad police on November 12, 2010 on charges of smuggling 13 kilogram heroin that was recovered from secret cavities of his car.
