RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Railways on Friday restarted Mehr Express from Rawalpindi to Multan after a three-month closure.

The inaugural ceremony was held at Rawalpindi Station. Divisional Superintendent Railway Rawalpindi Division, Syed Munawar Shah, CME Tariq Khan,Divisional Personnel Officer Umer Riaz,Divisional Commercial Officer Imran Hayat, DME Athar Riaz and others were present.

Talking to journalists, the DS said that 16 engines have been repaired and made operational. Nine more engines would be made operational by December 31 after repair.
