Cop trio held over kidnapping for ransom
FAISALABAD: Three police constables have been arrested and sent behind the bars on charge of abduction for ransom.

According to details, four persons in police uniform abducted Abrar son of Rana Zulfiqar of Hameed Park Shadab Colony from his butchering shop in Gulfishan Colony on December 16, 2011.

The accused took him at an unknown place from where they contacted abductee's brother through a mobile phone No. 0345-7731552 and demanded Rs 10,000 as ransom to release Abrar.

Abrar's brother secured Abrar's safe release after paying Rs 10,000 to the accused.

Later, he filed a complaint before in-charge Gulfishan police post and narrated the whole story.

Police traced the accused as Aamir Raees (6502/C), Muhammad Shafiq(4608/C), Khalil Ahmad (2207/C) and Khalil-ur-Rehman (5450/C) through mobile phone number.

Police conducted raids and arrested Aamir Raees, Muhammad Shafiq late Monday night and Khalil Ahmad while Khalil-ur-Rehman is still at large.

Jhang Bazaar police also registered a case against them while further investigation is under progress. (APP)
