PESHAWAR: The Board of Directors of the PESCO has strongly condemned the incident of violence and physical assault on its employees by the people.
The BoD decided that the loadshedding should be in proportionate to the electricity stealing and non-payment of bills.
The 64th meeting of the Board of Directors was held here at Wapda House with Hassam-ud Din Bangash in the chair.
The BoD expressed that on one hand Pesco employees provide electricity at the cost of their lives while on the other hand they were humiliated, physically assaulted, and unlawfully threatened that lead to the protest against Pesco which also made an initiative for the Mathra incident of Monday last, during which the transmission lines and towers were damaged in the presence of government authorities.
It strongly condemned both the incidents and in order to avoid repetition of such incidents in future the meeting suggested constituting a committee comprising Pesco BoD Members and Provincial Government representatives to analyze and rationalize the load shedding and current energy crisis. (APP)
