Gas shortage to hit residential consumers in Karachi: SSGC

  • Gas supply to be affected for four days: SSGC.
  • K Electric, Fauji Fertilisers to be hit by shortage, it says.
  • SSGC says export industry supply to be reduced if demand not met.


The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) said on Monday gas shortage might hit residential consumers in the coming days, as repair works were underway at an LNG terminal.

In a statement, the gas company said its consumers could face a shortage for up to four days, including Fauji Fertilisers, K Electric, and Nooriabad Power Company.

"If the gas shortage cannot be controlled, then supply to export industries will be reduced," the gas company added.
