Gold prices in Pakistan remain unchanged despite fall in international rates

KARACHI: The price of gold in the local market remained unchanged despite a dip in international prices on Saturday. The precious metal closed the day at Rs112,500 per tola and Rs96,451 per 10 grams.

The rates last recorded a decrease of Rs200 per tola and Rs 171 per 10 gram on Friday compared to Thursday’s prices.

International gold prices, meanwhile, decreased by $6 to close at $1,755 on Saturday.

It is pertinent to mention that the gold rates in Pakistan are around Rs1,000 below cost compared to the gold rate in the Dubai market.

Meanwhile, silver prices in the domestic market fell Rs20 per tola and Rs17.15 per 10 grams to close at Rs1,380 per tola and Rs1,183.12 per 10 grams on Saturday.
