Fake degree scam: Axact call agents used to intimidate, blackmail clients in UAE
KARACHI: Telephonic conversations recovered by Geo News revealed on Monday that Axact call agents used to coerce clients in the UAE by pressurising them and often blackmailing them.

During today’s Geo News programme ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada kay Saath’, host Shahzeb played two such telephonic recordings between Axact representatives and clients.

One of the phone calls divulges that the Axact agent is pretending to be from Nixon University and he is calling a UAE-based doctor, urging him to purchase transfer of credits.

The call recording reveals that even though the doctor is very annoyed with the agent as he says that he thought the process was already complete, the agent persistently forces and in fact blackmails him to agree with what the agent is asking him to do.

The call further discloses that the agent wants the doctor to spend more money on further processes than just the degree itself which involves more ‘fictitious’ entities created by Axact.

Another call recording played on the programme is from an Axact representative posing as an attorney from California fighting to legalise a degree of a UAE-based Pakistani.

The call reveals that the client is pleading with the Axact agent to leave him alone and begs to be let off, saying he has sold everything and has no money left, all due to the different amounts spent every time the agents called to ask for more and more.
