ISLAMABAD: Instrumental Ecstasy - a six part series of concerts will hold its fourth concert on classical music of subcontinent here on January 28.

The event is being organized by the Institute for Preservation of Art and Culture (IPAC) and Kuch Khaas, Center for Arts, Culture and Dialogue featuring the instrument of `Violin' by famous Violin virtuoso Ustad Raees Ahmad Khan (Pride of Performance) accompanied by Ustad Muhammad Ajmal on Tabla.

Instrumental Ecstasy takes the music lovers on an exciting journey to discover the melodic brilliance of the Indian subcontinent through Classical Instrumental Music.

The classical music of the subcontinent is one of the oldest unbroken musical traditions in the world. Its origins go back to the Vedic Period (roughly 1500 BC to 500 BC).

The violin is one of the earliest Western instruments to be adapted by the classical music of the subcontinent. The introduction of the instrument to the subcontinent dates back to over a century.

Violin is one of the most perfect instrument with extraordinary musical versatility, said the organizers.

IPAC is a social enterprise devoted to the aim of promoting and preserving the traditional genre of arts in Pakistan and create awareness and appreciation for the rich and awe-inspiring creative

Furthermore, it aims to be an educational resource center for those people who are interested in discovering Pakistani traditional music by allowing them to experience the magic of the artists themselves.
