  • Russian model Gretta Vedler found dead in trunk of car.
  • She had called the Russian president a psychopath after which she went missing.
  • Her partner Dmitry Korovin confesses to murder.

Gretta Vedler, a 23-year-old Russian model, was found dead hidden in a suitcase in the trunk of a car at a farmhouse garage, Daily Mail reported.

Vedler had reportedly criticised Russian President Vladimir Putin on social media and called him a “psychopath” in January 2021. A few weeks later, the model went missing. No one knew she had been murdered until now.

"Given the fact that Putin went through a lot of humiliation in childhood, he could not stand up for himself due to his [slight] physical form, it is not surprising that he left after law school and joined the KGB," the Daily Mail piece reported the model as saying. "I can only assume, in my opinion, that he shows a clear psychopathy or sociopathy," Vedler added.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation posted a video of Vedler's boyfriend confessing to the murder.

Vedler was last seen in Moscow, 470 kilometers from where her body was found. Her friends informed the services that her partner, Dmitry Korovin, was “insanely-jealous” of her and even stole 150,000 rubles threatening her.

Korovin confessed after being arrested and admitted that he had strangled the woman. He clarified that it did not have anything to with her comments about Putin and that the murder happened due to an argument over money.

According to Daily Mail, Korovin also confessed that he had slept with Vedler's corpse in a hotel for three days. He then virtually disguised himself as her on social media to avoid suspicion.
