  • Tesla fired a former employee, John Bernal.
  • Bernal made a review video on his YouTube channel on the Full Self-Driving Beta system.
  • Tesla refused to immediately respond to comment on the situation.

Tesla fired a former Autopilot employee after he shared his reviews of the company’s Full Self Driving Beta system on his YouTube channel, CNBC reported.

John Bernal has a YouTube channel called AI Addict where he shared his reviews while steering in different locations around Silicon Valley.

After dismissing him, Tesla also suspended his access to the FSD Beta System in his personally-owned vehicle which is a 2021 Tesla Model 3. However, he still has the premium driver-assistance software, FSD.

FSD Beta option is a set of added driver assistance features that are not yet finished or entirely debugged. One of them is “autosteer on city streets” which allows the car to navigate around complex areas without the driver moving the steering wheel.

Tesla has not yet revealed why exactly Bernal was fired but companies like Tesla and Silicon Valley often consider public criticism as disloyalty.

Tesla refused to immediately comment on the situation.
