Pakistan skipper Babar Azam expressed excitement ahead of his first Test in Lahore, saying that playing on home ground for the first time "is a different feeling that cannot be described in words."

World's no 1 cricketer expressed these views while addressing a virtual press conference in Lahore on Sunday, before the third Test against Australia.

"I will try to give my best on the home ground and in front of a home crowd because I am playing a Test match in Lahore for the first time."

While responding to a question about batters' bowling practice in the net sessions, Babar said that wicket keeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan always bowls to assist him.

"We try to help each other," Babar said.

Speaking about former Test captain Azhar Ali, the star cricketer said that Pakistan cricket has great contributions by Ali as he always plays well.

"We cannot expel anyone over their performance in a single match," Babar said, adding that the squad will enter the field confidently and try to win the match.

The skipper further stated that the Playing XI will be decided today after inspection of the pitch and the final decision will be made right before the match.

Babar said that winning the ongoing home series against Australia is crucial as it would boost the team's confidence. He said that Pakistan needs results in the Lahore Test.

"The entire team is excited to play Test in Lahore for the first time. We want to be achieve success in Lahore and are working hard for it."

When asked about the Lahore pitch, Babar said that the square doesn't seem much different but he feels that this pitch would give the team a turn.

"Performing well is as important as winning the toss. However, it is true that bowling in the fourth innings is a difficult task but this Test is a part of the sport," he said.

Responding to a question regarding the criticism Pakistan faced over a low run rate, Babar said that they have to face criticism whether they play well or not.

"But, we don't take criticism negatively [...] we support each other."

However, he added that the run rate is according to the situation and Pakistan's run rate is not that slow.

He further stated that he expects the same from Fawad Alam as always.

"He knows how to make a comeback and he will play well," Babar concluded.
