  • A man in Telangana builds a wooden treadmill.
  • The treadmill does not require any power.
  • Internet is divided over the efficiency of this new invention.

While people across the globe spend a considerable about of money purchasing at-home gym equipment, a man has surprised the Internet by building a wooden treadmill using his carpentry skills, NDTV reported.

Telangana IT minister KT Rama Rao retweeted the video of this man and tagged the state's prototyping centre, T-Works.

“Wow! @TWorksHyd please connect & help him scale up,” KTR said in his tweet.

In the video, the man could be seen putting together the treadmill. Wooden parts are being jammed together tightly. In the end, the man shows how the treadmill works without electricity.

The man walks on the wooden parts that are assembled like a conveyor and force them to roll faster, consequently increasing the speed.

Originally posted on March 17, the video is now gaining attraction.

While many people appreciated the effort, others said that it could not function as a treadmill in the longer run.

With more than 136,000 views, the video has gone viral but the identity of the man has not been revealed.
