  • Sources say Firdous Ashiq Awan had expressed her wish to join PML-N.
  • Awan had conveyed message to PML-N leadership in London through renowned singer Waris Baig, say sources.
  • Sources say PML-N’s top leadership discussed matter for 10 minutes but did not give any assurance to Awan.

PTI’s senior leader and former special assistant to the prime minister on information and broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Monday brushed off the news regarding her wish to join the PML-N, terming it "fake".

Sources privy to the matter said that Awan had expressed her wish to join the PML-N.

According to the sources, the former SAPM had conveyed the message to the PML-N leadership in London through renowned singer Waris Baig — who had met PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and former finance minister Ishaq Dar in London.

However, Awan did not demand any ticket in Sialkot, per the sources.

The sources said that the PML-N’s top leadership discussed the matter for 10 minutes. However, the PTI senior leader was not given any assurance regarding her addition to the party and was told to contact the PML-N leadership in Punjab.
