  • Met department warns of couple of days long "very hot and dry weather spell" likely to grip Karachi.
  • Mercury is likely to shoot up to 41°C with suspension of sea breeze throughout the heat spell.
  • Other parts of Sindh to witness "very hot and dry" weather conditions with up to 43-45°C maximum temperature.

KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Tuesday warned that a “very hot and dry weather spell” may hit Karachi today (Wednesday) which is going to continue till Friday, The News reported.

During this extreme weather spell, the mercury is likely to shoot up to 41°Celsius, with the suspension of sea breeze throughout this period.

The Met department issued a weather advisory, stating that besides Karachi, other districts of Sindh will witness "very hot and dry" weather conditions with a maximum temperature range of up to 43°C-45°C.

The last time the temperature went as high as 41°C was on Sunday, which according to the Met department was influenced by a high pressure system present in the upper atmosphere in the country, which cleared from the Pakistani skies by Monday.

However, another heat spell is going to grip the city and other districts of Sindh.

PMD officials said the weather will remain very hot and dry in the month of April in Karachi, quoting an average temperature of 35°C.
