Hero dad fights armed intruders after they smash into house

A man reportedly confronted three armed dacoits who broke into the house smashing the window with a brick, India Times reported.

Three masked men smashed a rear window, forcing their way inside the house in Manchester. Security cameras recorded the group entering with a sledgehammer.

“We heard a bang where they’d thrown a big brick and it’d smashed the glass so they got in. They had a sledgehammer and one took a knife from our kitchen drawers," the man, anonymous, told Manchester Evening News.

Reportedly, the intruders grabbed a knife from the kitchen and moved upstairs where the children were asleep. The father, however, resisted and destroyed their plans.

“I was upstairs in the bathroom and I rushed out and saw the guys trying to come upstairs so I just jumped on top of him and kicked him in the shoulder. He pulled me down from my legs and I somehow managed to jump up, my wife handed me a baseball bat as our neighbours came and knocked at the door. They [the robbers] got scared I guess and left. It was very terrifying but we’re ok, I just have a few bruises so it could have been worse," he added.

The family remained unharmed, but the young daughter has been horrified since the incident.

The CCTV footage showed two men roaming around in the backyard of the house.
