KARACHI: The Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) has forecast "extreme heat" for the metropolis today (Friday).

According to chief meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz, mercury in the city is likely to shoot up to 42°Celsius or higher. The weather in Karachi will be hotter than previous days.

Sea breeze is not blowing in the city per usual, said the chief meteorologist, adding that the "hot and dry" winds of Balochistan could blow from the northwest.

The Met department said that the temperature is likely to drop from April 9, hovering between 38°C and 39°C. However, warm weather is expected to grip the city from April 14 again.
