ISLAMABAD: A plea seeking to place the names of former prime minister Imran Khan and ministers in his cabinet on the Exit Control List (ECL) was filed in the Islamabad High Court on Saturday, The News reported.

The IHC will hear the petition tomorrow (Monday).

The plea was filed by Maulvi Iqbal Haider as the former PM left PM House following his ouster from the office of the premier as a result of a successful no-confidence vote against him Saturday night.

The plea seeks an investigation into the alleged threat letter and an inquiry against the former prime minister and the ministers regarding the matter.

Haider has also requested the IHC to put former deputy speaker Qasim Suri and Asad Majeed on the ECL alongside Imran, former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Fawad Chaudhry

Despite the government’s hectic efforts to avoid voting on the no-confidence motion against then prime minister, Imran, the joint Opposition succeeded in its month-long efforts to oust him from the prime minister's office as 174 members of the National Assembly voted against him deciding his fate after a lot of drama in the House.
