Boy takes his own life after father refuses to recharge phone's data pack

A teenager in India allegedly took his own life after his father refused to recharge the internet package on his phone, NDTV reported.

City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Alok Sharma said that the preliminary probe after the boy's body was found dead revealed that the father's inability to recharge the son's data pack lead the 14-year-old to take the step. The father is a labourer who was facing financial constraints.

Investigations also showed that the boy was addicted to video games on his mobile phone.
