Interest free loan scheme for jobless youth hailed

HYDERABAD: The interest free loan to jobless youth for initiating their own business under Benazir Income Support Programme would not only improve the socio economic condition of the beneficiaries but it also opens a new vista of economic development in the country.

The Director General Benazir Income Support Programme Sindh Zafarullah Soomro expressed these views while speaking as a chief guest at the concluding ceremony of the training of the beneficiaries who received Rs 0.3 million interest free loan for launching their own business under BISP here at the Government College Kali Mori on late Sunday evening.

Zafarullah Soomro informed that a total of 35 thousand jobless youth have been selected through balloting by President Asif Ali Zardari for grant of interest free loan up to Rs0.3 million so that they could launch their own business and improve socio economic condition of their family members.

Out of 35 thousand beneficiaries, 30 from each district of the province have been selected for seven days training of utilizing of granted loan in a proper business, he said and added that his programme would help in eradicating poverty from the country.

Under Benazir Income Support Programme, he informed that different projects have been launched by the government aimed to eradicate poverty and improve the socio economic condition of the poor people of the country. The programme is being carried out in transparent manner with availability of all required data of the beneficiaries, he added.

Among others, the BISP Focal Persons Sindh Government Dr. Nasir, Bakhtiar Ahmed and Arbila Sahar also addressed the beneficiaries and highlighted the efforts of the government for improving the socio economic condition.

The beneficiaries who completed the training thanked the President Asif Ali Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah for their peoples oriented projects particularly the provision of interest free loans to jobless youth.

Such programme will definitely bring an economic revolution as the jobless youth received the opportunity of starting their own business they added. (APP)
