PESHAWAR: The district administration here on Tuesday arrested 11 shopkeepers for overcharging in a crackdown against profiteers, from the areas of Haji Camp and Gulbahar.
According to details, after receiving complaints regarding profiteering and selling of substandard goods, the Special Magistrate Habib Ullah Arif visited the various markets of the city.
During the inspection of the shops in Haji Camp and Gulbahar area, officials of district administration arrested 11 shopkeepers for unfair business practices, overcharging and non-display of government approved price list.
District administration has sent the arrested shopkeepers to jail under section 3/6FSO.
