LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has started to consider making possible changes in the categories of centrally contracted players with an expected increase of 10 to 15% in monthly salaries and fees, reported The News.
"Preliminary talks have started for new central contracts," said a PCB official as the existing contracts of the 20 players will expire on June 30.
The PCB is considering reshuffling, promoting, and demoting players through different categories for the new contracts that are to be issued on June 1, sources privy to the matter said.
Left-handed all-rounder Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Wasim Jr, and Haris Rauf may be awarded contracts while former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and leg-spinner Yasir Shah may not be offered new contracts, according to the sources.
