RAWALPINDI: Centre for Peace and Development Initiatives (CPDI) and Active Citizens Group of Rawalpindi (ACGR) will organize a peaceful walk with the help of local residents and social activists on Friday for completion of two government degree colleges for boys and girls in Dhoke Syedan.
People from different political parties and local community will participate in the walk and will demand for the allocation funds for the construction of collage in the upcoming budget.
After spending of Rs 42 millions on construction of these colleges, the project was unfunded by present government of Punjab since 2008.
According to a report, these are the only Boys and Girls Colleges in Rawalpindi Cant area. The construction of these colleges is almost 75% completed by the building departments however, 25 % is pending since 2008.
The scheme does not fall in the Annual Development Program since 2009 and now these colleges have become ghost colleges and sweet homes for drug-addicted people. (APP)
