Gold price plunges by Rs1,500 per tola as rupee slightly recovers against US dollar

The price of gold settles at Rs140,900 per tola and Rs120,800 per 10 gram

  • Price of gold settles at Rs140,900 per tola. 
  • Gold price decreases by Rs1,285 per 10 gram.
  • Price of yellow metal remains unchanged in int'l market.


KARACHI: The gold price in Pakistan extended losses on Thursday as it declined by Rs1,500 per tola in line with the partial recovery of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar in the interbank market. 

According to the All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association (ASSJA), the price of the precious commodity settled at Rs140,900 per tola. Meanwhile, the gold price decreased by Rs1,285 and closed at Rs120,800 per 10 gram. 

A day earlier, the price of gold closed at Rs142,200 with a decrease of Rs850 per tola. 

In the international market, the price of yellow metal remained unchanged at $1,848 per ounce.

The silver prices in the domestic market also remained unchanged at Rs1,570 per tola and Rs1,346.02 per 10 gram today.
