No water shortage in city: WASA
RAWALPINDI: The garrison city of Rawalpindi would face no water shortage this summer as sufficient amount of water is available Rawal Dam, the main water reservoir.

Talking to APP, an official of Water And Sanitation Agency (Wasa) said WASA is getting around 27 million gallon water on daily basis from Rawal Dam and Khanpur dam that was sufficient to meet city's demand.

He said outflow of water in the dam is around 86 acre-feet.

The official said total capacity of the dam is about 1,741 feet while its dead level is 1,710 feet.

He categorically said that there was no gap between demand and supply of water in Rawalpindi city besides WASA has made elaborate arrangements to the tackle the situation in the summer season.

To a question, he said the water level has improved considerably in Rawal Dam after the recent rains in the twin cities.
