PYO holds protest demo against SC verdict

PESHAWAR: Peoples Youth Organization Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday held a protest demonstration here against the Supreme Court verdict against Prime Minister Syed Yusaf Raza Gilani in contempt of court case.

The demonstration was led by Deputy General Secretary of PYO Peshawar Division Sajid Ali and President of Peshawar District Jehangir Khan.

The protestors termed the verdict of the Supreme Court as unfair and unjust and expressed dismay over it. The verdict was contrary to the interest of democracy in the country and not based on justice.

The PPP workers and people were not happy over the court's decision and it in fact has tarnished the image of the judiciary.

By appearing before the bench, the Prime Minister has shown his respect for the country's judiciary, the PYO leaders maintained. The PPP government would use all available constitutional and legal means in this case, they concluded.
