Shahzain among 26 accomplices detained

QUETTA: Provincial president Jamhoori Watan Party Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti on Saturday was detained by the police after he, along with his 26 accomplices consented to being arrested.

Additional Session Judge V Quetta Syed Zulfiqar Naqvi had issued the non- bailable arrest warrants for the grandson of late Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti as he did not appear before the Supreme Court after his bail was cancelled.

Earlier, Balochistan Home Minister Mir Zafarullah Zehri reached the residence of JWP leader and showed him arrest warrants.

"Cases against me are false and I would appeal against my arrest" Bugti told media men outside his residence.

Shahzain Bugti along with 26 accomplices was arrested on Dec 22, 2010, after security forces had recovered a huge quantity of illegal arms and ammunition.
