Ayyaz Palejo condemns attack on Awami Tehreek rally
KARACHI: President Awami Tehreek, Ayyaz Palejo, Tuesday condemned the indiscriminate killing of the participants of “ Mohabbat Sindh Rally”, held against the rising demands of a Mohajir province, Geo News reported.

The Awami Tehreek (AT) along with the People’s Amn Committee (PAC) had decided to bring out a rally from Cheel Chowk, Lyari, and to gather outside the Karachi Press Club (KPC).

The Sindhi nationalist leader alleged that certain elements sabotaged Awami Tehreek’s peaceful rally in an organized way.

“Our rally was proceeding peacefully, when miscreants attacked us, killing and injuring scores of our activists including women, moreover many of our female participants were missing”, said Palejo.

“None of our activists were armed, violence was imposed upon us,” he added.

Palejo further said it was a serious conspiracy aimed at destabilising the law and order situation in the province.

Following the firing incidents, a number of vehicles, motorcycles and shops were set ablaze.

It is pertinent to mention that the AT leadership had also warned the administration not to create any hurdles for the participants of the rally or else the people would resort to launching province-wide protests.
