ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar called on President Dr Arif Alvi at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Friday, an official statement said.

During the meeting, the finance minister briefed the president on the overall economic and financial outlook of the country — which has been gloomy after the catastrophic floods.

A statement from the President's Secretariat mentioned that the finance czar also briefed the president on various steps taken by the government to provide relief to the people, especially to the unprivileged population of underserved areas of the country and the flood affectees.

"During the meeting, various matters concerning finance and economy were also discussed," the statement added.
