Police thwart doctor’s abduction in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Law-enforcers, late Monday night, foiled an attempted kidnapping of a Lady Reading Hospital’s RMO here in the provincial capital of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Geo News reported.

According to Chamkani Police Station, unknown snatchers not only abducted Dr Khalil but also commandeered his car on the way home from his clinic.

Reacting unusually quickly, police, surprised the kidnappers by catching up with them in a flash, which panicked the perpetrators so hard that they got rid of the abductee by throwing him out of the moving vehicle and sped away.

Later the RMO, who received minor injuries when the took the fall, was taken to the Lady Reading Hospital’s emergency ward for medical treatment, where the doctors tended to his wounds before discharging him.

Chamkani police have kick-started an investigation into the deplorable attempt.
