Security to be beefed up at Shab-e-Barat
KARACHI: Inspector General of Police Sindh Mushtaq Ahmed Shah has directed the police officials to make appropriate security arrangements on the eve of Shab-e-barat falling on Thursday.

He said action would be taken against the elements involved in manufacturing and selling of fire works and crackers without any discrimination in collaboration with the Rangers.

According to Police press release issued here Sunday, the IGP Sindh specifically directed the Additional IGP Karachi to alert all police stations in the city as pointed out by the media against selling of fireworks items.

He also directed the police officials to make strict security arrangements around graveyards, ensure smooth flow of traffic and ban parking of vehicles and push carts around and on the routes leading to graveyards and shrines as security precaution.

He further directed to detail sufficient number of traffic police to control traffic near these places. He also called for conducting snap checking in all areas of the city, picketing and police patrolling in collaboration with the rangers.
