Death toll in Afghan wedding party attack rises to 13

MAZARI SHARIF: The death toll from a suicide attack Saturday on a wedding party in northern Afghanistan rose to 13 people, with around 60 more injured, a doctor said.

An attacker on foot detonated his explosives at the wedding party of the daughter of an Afghan MP in Aybak, the capital of relatively peaceful Samangan province, Sediq Azizi, a spokesman for provincial authorities, told AFP.

A doctor at Samangan central hospital said 13 dead bodies had been brought in, and around 60 people had been wounded.
