ISLAMABAD: Police have arrested eleven outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered 332 bottles of wine, weapons, a stolen motorbike and looted items from their possession, said a department's spokesman on Saturday.
On a tip-off, SP (City) Muhammad Ilyas constituted a team to foil the attempt to smuggle wine.
This team started checking on a picket at Murree Road and recovered 322 wine bottles from two cars. Some 102 bottles of wine were recovered from the car (ICT- MD-419 ) of Waqas Saeeed son of Saeed Naz, resident of Model Town Lahore and . Similarly, 220 bottles were recovered from another car (Peshawar U-1134) being driven by Munawar Masih, son of Bashir Masih, resident of Mangu Town Bharakahu .
Meanwhile, Bharakahu police apprehended Naseem son of Muhammad Hussain, resident of Muzaffarabad and recovered a motorbike (GAD-2266 Honda 125), from him, which he had stolen from Yousuf Plaza.
Aabpara police arrested a bootlegger Waheed Masih and recovered eight wine bottles from him, while Kohsar police recovered a tampered car (B-1066) from an accused Shehzad.
Sabzi Mandi police raided a house in I-10/1 Sector and nabbed five persons for their alleged involvement in immoral activities.
Tarnol police apprehended Wajid Ali for having a 30- bore pistol while Shehzad Town police arrested a thief Abdul Razaq. (APP)
