ISLAMABAD: Margallah police Islamabad have arrested 22criminals and 66 proclaimed offenders during last three months and recovered four stolen vehicles, 11 tempered vehicles, 382 wine bottles, looted items, five pistols and daggers from their possession, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.
According to details, SP (Saddar) Sajid Kiani assigned special task to ASP Mustansar Feeroz to ensure arrest of those involved in car theft and other criminals incidents in the area. Following these directions, special teams headed by SHO Inspector Muhammad Hussain Lasi started high vigilance as well as patrolling in the area and succeeded to arrest 22 criminals, 25 gamblers and 66 proclaimed offenders.
These special teams recovered four stolen vehicles, 11 tempered vehicles, 295 gram hashish, 382 wine bottles, five pistols, daggers and looted items worth millions of rupees from their possession.
Following the direction of IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan, Margallah police expedited the efforts to complete investigation on the pending cases and challans of 200 cases were submitted into relevant courts during last three months after completion of fair probe.
To curb activities of professional alm-seekers especially during Ramazan, Margallah police arrested 35 beggars and initiated legal action against them.
The IGP has appreciated the overall performance and directed heads of all police stations to ensure effective policing in their respective jurisdictions. (APP)
