Annual Urs of Sachal Sarmast begins
KHAIRPUR: The 191st three-day annual Urs of saint poet Sachal Sarmast started at Daraza Sharif town, some 50 kilometers from Khairpur on Thursday, Sajaada Nasheen of shrine Dr. Sakhi Qabool Muhammad Farooqi laid the floral wreath on the Mazaar of Hazrat Sachal Sarmast and inaugurated the Urs ceremonies.

Dr. Farooqi also met his followers and listened to the mystic song of Sachal sung by folk singers in their own traditional style.

Sindh chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah will lay the floral wreath at Mazar of saint poet on Friday 14th Ramadan (Today) to officially inaugurate Urs ceremonies. The CM will also listen to the songs of Sachal and distribute the awards among the prominent personalities on the occasion.

The musical concert, Sughar Conference and literary conference will also be held in Sachal Auditorium Khairpur in which poets, writers and prominent personalities will read their poetry and papers on the life of Sachal.

Deputy Commissioner Khairpur has declared local holiday in the district on Friday on the occasion of Urs.

Sajaada Nasheen Sakhi Qabool Muhammad has boycotted the official ceremonies due to his reservations. He will not attend any ceremony although he is present in his home town. (PPI)
