LAHORE: Eid shopping in the provincial capital is gaining momentum while the shopkeepers have raised prices. Most markets, bazaars and shopping centres have been decorated to attract customers.
Women of all ages have started visiting bazaars and shopping malls after Iftar to buy clothes and shoes while bangle sale is slowly picking up. Customers have to bargain at most of shops because shopkeepers demand different prices of the same item.
In some localities, eid card sellers have set up stalls outside shops to attract customers but there are few buyers.
Vermicelli making is also in full swing. They will be in huge demand on Eid.
A dull and slow eid shopping trend is witnessed at the major markets of the city despite that second half of Ramazan is about to pass, Shopkeepers are seen sitting idle waiting for prospect buyers. Several shoppers complained that due to high rates of items things are beyond their purchasing power. (APP)
